Karma (/ˈkɑːrmə/; Sanskrit: कर्म, Karma is a Sanskrit word. It simply means action, work or deed or duty; it also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect). Good intent and good deeds contribute to good karma and future happiness, while bad intent and bad deeds contribute to bad karma and future suffering.
It also means actions, inaction, reaction & proaction. Sometimes even movement or motion, but it definitely does not imply stagnation. What do I myself mean? I mean it as “being there, done that” and here now enjoy or suffer. Furthermore, karma does not refer to only performing actions right here right now, but also the sum total of good and bad actions we committed in the past, and the cycles of their reactions in the next. Karma is what goes around, comes around.
To simplify matters, think of any actions one took in the past, intentional-or-unintentional, positive-or-negative, good-or-bad, right-or-wrong, and then try to remember/ recall the nature of events that followed in one’s life. This is where the karmic law of cause and effect comes in. Karma establishes the relationship between cause & effect, action & reaction. Sir Isaac Newton’s third law is “for every action, there is an equal & opposite reaction”. As you sow, so shall you reap. So do good, get good and do bad, get worse. So be good or be careful. So be a good soul…
Sometimes we get confused on what to do. Sometimes we get confirmed on what to do. Once Mahatma Gandhi said – Be the change you want to be. Now Barak Obama said – We are what we have been. Karma is the ultimate affirmation of free will. Free will enables you to choose. To choose from many options. From many options, you have to decide to choose the main option. Here to choose is karma. But karma is in dilemma. Right decision on appropriate time or appropriate decision on right time. Take the right decision on right time. This is the main thing. Here the main thing is You. You are the decision maker and decision taker. And the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path. There is always a right path or an easy path. The path is one. The walker is alone. Guide is none. Make a choice. Take a decision.
People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you – you can’t do it. Don’t ever let someone tell you, you can’t do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you got to protect it. You want something, go get it. Never stop dreaming. Never stop getting it. – The Pursuit of Happyness
Still luck doesn’t favor. Why? The answer is the so called luck will never favor. It only favor the lucky ones. It favors in the short run, but in the long run it doesn’t work. It’s temporary. It’s not permanent. The permanent is your talent and your labor. Above all, your belief in you.
Karma is a hope. Have faith…
